President Donald Trump on Monday called again for an investigation into special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe, which he claims “ruled no collusion, no obstruction,” although Mueller did not reach that conclusion.
“Mueller, and the A.G. based on Mueller findings (and great intelligence), have already ruled No Collusion, No Obstruction,” Trump tweeted. “These were crimes committed by Crooked Hillary, the DNC, Dirty Cops and others! INVESTIGATE THE INVESTIGATORS!”
Attorney General William Barr is expected to release a partially redacted version of Mueller’s report in the near future, already having released a short summary that said the special counsel had not exonerated the president, and had reached no conclusion on obstruction of justice. Barr told Congress last week that he believes the Trump campaign was spied on.
“Spying on a political campaign is a big deal,” Barr told a Senate subcommittee in a hearing. “I think spying did occur. The question is whether it was adequately predicated. And I’m not suggesting that it wasn’t adequately predicated. But I need to explore that.”
Trump tweeted on Monday, “THEY SPIED ON MY CAMPAIGN (We will never forget)!” without context.
