Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund team news and line-ups: Who starts at Wembley tonight?

Spurs host the German giants in their Round of 16 first-leg tie

Tottenham welcome Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund to Wembley tonight for their Champions League clash.

Dortmund, who lead the German league despite drawing their last two games, were dumped out of the competition last season at the group stage, losing twice to Spurs.

They will be looking for revenge in this evening’s Round of 16 first-leg tie.

Tottenham only just made it into the knockout stages, needing an 85th-minute equaliser at Barcelona in December to match Inter Milan’s result at home to PSV Eindhoven and progress.

The north Londoners will hope to capitalise on what Mauricio Pochettino described as ‘mission impossible’, starting with tonight’s visit of Dortmund.

Spurs beat the Germans 3-1 at home last season before winning 2-1 at the Westfalenstadion.

Tottenham vs Borussia Dortmund team news

Tottenham ace Danny Rose is on the bench tonight.

The England full-back suffered a wound to his shin in the weekend’s win over Leicester and needed a late fitness test but is in the squad.

Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Ben Davies remain out injured while Eric Dier is still missing through illness. Erik Lamela has made the bench after his recent back spasm.

Dortmund have four key players out including star man Marco Reus who has a muscle injury.

Julian Weigl is ill, Paco Alcacer has a shoulder problem and Lukas Piszczek is out with a foot issue and the four have not joined their team-mates for the trip to London.

England ace Jadon Sancho is expected to start on the right wing.
